New Fender guitar being developed by Johnny Marr
The Smiths ex guitarist Johnny Marr has revealed that he is working on a developing a new guitar with Fender.
Speaking to the international publication Billboard, he said that the prototype guitar will be based on a 1962 Jaguar, which is one of the most iconic cars in all of motoring history.
Marr said: "The model has to be perfect. You can see I'm spinning a lot of plates."
He was speaking on the back of letting the world know that he is currently a very busy man indeed. Marr is in the process of making a new album with The Healers, working on an autobiography and writing the score for the TV show The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret.
The work with The Healers is the first time he will be making fresh new music since leaving The Cribs in April this year. He told the online publication that the new album will come out sometime in 2012.
The Smiths are one of the most famous English rock bands of the 80s. Formed in 1982, they were together for five years, producing, among others, the provocatively titled album The Queen Is Dead.
