New Joan Jett book to be published
A new picture book about guitar player Joan Jett is to be published.
The collection of photographs which is named after the singer was taken by Todd Oldham and charts her career as a member of 1970s girl band the Runaways.
Speaking to the Telegraph about her long-lasting career, Jett stated that the idea of women playing the guitar was threatening to the establishment at the time.
"In the early days of the Runaways, our audience [had] never seen anything like girls playing rock n' roll," she recalled.
"We put it right in their face."
The Joan Jett Blackheart guitar is based on the instrument she used back in the 1970s and 1980s, when the musician recorded tracks such as I Love Rock N' Roll and Bad Reputation.Posted on 3 Jul 2010 09:00 to category : Music News
