br /> The virtuoso will replace Timothy Ying on violin in the acclaimed group after it was revealed that their concert at Hochstein Performance Hall in New York on Sunday (April 26th) was to be the last for the all-sibling line-up.

"Frank has the musical skills and sensibility, the vision, passion and personality to lead the quartet into a new and exciting musical chapter," said the ensemble's viola player Phillip Ying in an Eastman School of Music press release.

With a host of awards under his belt, Huang would appear to fit in well with the Ying Quartet.

He won the Hannover International Violin Competition in 2000 and the Naumburg Violin Competition in 2003 - the year of the Yings' first of three Grammy nominations.

Phillip said he is looking forward to working with Huang and believes the new group can "forge a fresh and dynamic ensemble together".
