Newport disabled centre to get all musical
Patrick Goodried, from Newport, had aimed to raise money for the paediatric unit at the Royal Gwent Hospital, but after the instrument was given back by the winner of the raffle he has decided to bestow the Sparkle's Serennu Centre in High Cross with the guitar, the South Wales Argus reports.
The Freshman Welsh dragon acoustic guitar is a striking instrument and hits a chord with the children at the centre.
Mr Goodried told the source: “It was great that we not only managed to raise money for the paediatric ward, but now other children will enjoy it too. The Serennu Centre is a fabulous building and the staff were lovely and brilliant with the children.”
Christmas has come and gone and many households may now be united with the sound of music as many parents look to encourage their children to take up the popular instrument and it will be no different at the Sparkle's Serennu Centre.
Staff have said that the guitar will be used for weekly music lessons.
