Nick Jonas: Music more important than fame
Nick Jonas, electric guitar player in the Jonas Brothers, has urged aspiring rock and pop stars not to make fame a priority.
Speaking to the Scotsman, he said would-be celebrities need to concentrate on becoming a good musician first.
"Ray Charles once said 'I don't want to be famous, I want to be great'," he commented.
"That comes close to our mantra in life."
Jonas added that he loves it when he meets fans who say they want to be a professional musician in the future.
He warned that people who are more interested in being famous have their priorities "mixed up".
This comes shortly after the Jonas Brothers visited a Gateshead school as part of a government scheme to get more people playing musical instruments.
Kevin Jonas said he hoped their special lesson at Ryton Comprehensive School would help inspire children to pick up an instrument or practise more if they already know how to play.Posted on 14 Dec 2009 14:00 to category : Instruments News
