Nicola Benedetti 'passionate about spreading the message of violin'
Professional musician Nicola Benedetti has spoken about her love of playing the violin. Talking to the Daily Record, the 23-year-old star explained she is not interested in being a celebrity but wants to use her success to spread the message about the instrument and the music she adores.
She said that as a violin player, she is serious about helping people to discover more about classical music. The star said helping to highlight this make her feel she is doing something worthwhile with her career.Â
Benedetti was named as the Young Musician of the Year back in 2004 and was recently awarded a Doctorate of Letters from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh in recognition of her outstanding contribution to music.
Next month, the violinist is set to travel to Germany to perform a piano trial recital with the Bremen Philharmonic Society. She is also scheduled to play with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in Glasgow on December 2nd.
