Nitin Sawhney 'obsessed with playing piano and guitar'
Prolific musician Nitin Sawhney has spoken about how his passion for music began at a young age.
In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Sawhney - who first started playing the piano at the age of five - explained that creating music was the chief activity of his childhood.
"I was obsessed with the guitar and the piano. I'd come home and go to my room and play for hours, even when I was at senior school," he said.
Sawhney added that as he got older he joined a huge variety of different groups, playing in everything from punk bands to jazz quartets.
In his adult career, the musician has gone on to release eight studio albums, as well as writing scores for television shows and films.
Last month, he played shows in Doha and Budapest and is to perform for two nights in Sydney during November as part of the Australian Festival of South Asian Arts.
