Olympic ceremony includes host of music instruments
One example of instrument playing being put centre stage was when Rowan Atkinson gave a comedic performance on a keyboard, apparently in character as Mr Bean.
As part of a performance of Chariots of Fire – with the London Symphony Orchestra – the comedian was seen to be among the many people playing.
But in one of many comic moments, it seemed to dawn on him that he had only been given a single note to play, and he was seen to flick forward in his music, as if trying to spot whether he would have any variety later on!
Meanwhile, band Arctic Monkeys were also part of the ceremony, alongside their electric guitars and drums.
One of the songs the well known South Yorkshire band performed was I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor, which made them famous back in 2005.
The single was a number one hit for the group, of which Alex Turner is the lead singer.
