Orange has made details of its new Dark Terror guitar amp public.

The product has been created to suit heavy metal and rock guitarists, combining the shape control of the Thunder series with the weight and size of the Terror range.

"With its characteristic fearless Orange Amp looks, heavy duty construction and portability, guitar players everywhere will quickly become attuned to this scary dark force of nature," said a statement from the company.

Among its notable features are a low 7kg weight, the four stages of gain and the provision of a gig bag to help transport the device.

The Orange Dark Terror guitar amp will come on to the market towards the end of May, with a recommended retail price of £399 set for the piece of equipment.

A wide variety of bands who perform different genres of music make use of Orange equipment when performing live and in the studio.

Among the acts who rely on the manufacturer for some part of their set-up are Arctic Monkeys, Alkaline Trio, Bring Me The Horizon and Gallows.

Kid Rock, Jimmy Eat World and Manic Street Preachers are other established artists who utilise the brand.
