Orchestra rep says music helps parents
Tunes made by the likes of music instruments, suggested the Orchestra's communications manager Daniel Politt, can be important when it comes to aiding mums and dads to nurture the connection between themselves and their babies. This is the case during pregnancy too, he added.
"It's a complex phenomenon and we welcomed the guidance of eminent psychologist Dr Suzanne Zeedyk, whose knowledge and expertise in this area has been invaluable in developing Astar," the rep said.
For the next two years, newborn Scottish babies are set to be given a Royal Scottish National Orchestra recording called Astar. Mr Politt said that the Orchestra was "delighted" about the development.
The RSNO website reports that the music instruments players of the Orchestra will be performing a line-up including Sibelius' second symphony in Edinburgh come October 26th.
