P. Diddy raps with Monkeys
P. Diddy is teaching Arctic Monkeys how to rap.
The hip-hop mogul formed an unlikely friendship with the British band last year, and according to drummer Matt Helders he's been in contact with the group ever since, and is planning to fly them out to the US to teach them the secrets of rap.
He said: "We speak to him at least three times a week. We are going to Miami in a few weeks and are going to be hanging out with him. He's going to be teaching us the hip-hop ways.
When asked if they are planning to work on a track together, Matt added: "He's a good mate, so it would be fun."
Last year Diddy joked about joining the group when he hung out with them in New York while they recorded last album 'Humbug', saying he wanted to them up to his Bad Boy record label.
He tweeted: "Just kickin' it wit my boy Matt [Helders] from the Arctic Monkeys! I'm the newest member of the group! I'm signing him to Bad Boy! (sic)"
Diddy later described his time with the band - fronted by Alex Turner - as "off the chain".Posted on 26 Feb 2010 10:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
