P. Diddy's UK pride
P. Diddy is happy British artists are finally taking some "pride" in their roots.
The US rapper - who has formed a new group Diddy Dirty Money, and performed in the UK for the first time in five years on Wednesday (29.09.10) - said he respects the younger generation of upcoming UK musicians, as they have their own sound and don't try to act like their American counterparts.
He said: "I used to see UK artists try and be like US ones so now to see them have self pride, and to be able to collaborate with them is awesome."
Diddy - who performed with his new group Dirty Money in Glasgow, Scotland at Wednesday's show - recently worked with UK grime MC Skepta on a remix of his track 'Hello Good Morning' and said he's also drawn up a wish list of UK acts he would love to work with.
He said: "I'm really liking everything Tinie Tempah is doing, and I also like Labrinth. Skepta fits in well with the Bad Boy family."
Dirty Money's Dawn Richard - who makes up the band alongside Diddy and singer-songwriter Kalenna Harper - also tipped rapper Tinie Tempah for international success.
She said to the Daily Star: "We love Tinie and think he'll definitely be able to make it big in the States. We're all here to help him achieve that."Posted on 1 Oct 2010 10:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
