PJ Harvey has done the impossible and won the Mercury Prize again, becoming the first musician to ever win the prestigious award twice. The singer-songwriter picked up the prize at the glittering ceremony last night (September 7th), which was particularly poignant as ten years ago, when she was first won the award, she was unable to collect it. In 2001, Harvey was unable to return to the UK as she was stuck in the US after terrorists attacked the country, an event which has gone some way to shape her new album Let England Shake. "When I last won I was in Washington DC watching the Pentagon burn from my hotel window," Harvey told a cheering crowd of industry bigwigs and stars. "So much has happened since then. I wanted to make something meaningful and to make something that would last." She also said she had been inspired by the epic poetry of TS Elliot, the work of Harold Pinter and everything that has happened since the Twin Towers came crumbling down. "The greater urgency that I felt to write an album like this now is because of what has happened in the last ten years," she said. Save Money Now And Buy Online Today  ADNFCR-2133-ID-800721341-ADNFCR
