PLASA 2010: Dynacord launches the PowerMate 3 powered mixer
Dynacord has launched the PowerMate 3 at PLASA 2010, a third generation of the powered mixing standard offering greater power and functionality.
Despite considerable reductions in the weight, size and power consumption of the PowerMate, the latest version of this highly successful powered mixer offers an expandable bus structure and new features.
"We have integrated only the finest components into the design" said Dynacord's senior product managaer, Martin Traut.
"Without exception, we have chosen uncompromising solutions - from the extremely low-noise microphone preamplifiers in the mixing section to the six AUX sends and state-of-the-art Class D high performance power amplifiers".
"Every link of the signal chain complies with the highest concert sound requirements. And by integrating the four-in/four-out USB port, we have fulfilled an oft-expressed wish of our customers".
Since its launch in 1997, Dynacord's PowerMate has been a pro audio and MI industry standard selling more than 100,000 units making it the world's most popular powered mixer, not to add the numerous awards.
The latest incarnation is equipped with a professional mixing surface optimized for live performance, with a choice of 10, 16 or 22 channel strips.
Features include vocal voicing filters, six AUX busses, low-noise microphone preamplifiers, low cut filters and 11-band graphic equalizers.
The company promises 'concert level' sound performance and the new USB 2.0 audio interface simplifies tasks such as live recording, playback and interval music.
The mixer's Class D power amplifier outputs two channels of 1,000 Watts RMS (into four Ohms).
An innovative power management system makes it possible to adjust the output to suit different cabinets (including those with a somewhat lower power-handling capacity), while retaining the full dynamic range of the power amplifier.
The usual protective circuitry found in all Dynacord power amplifiers is also built in, ensuring operating safety and reliability.
The PowerMate 3 is also equipped with an extensive effects section, comprising two independent (and separately editable) effects processors, each with 100 factory presets optimized for live performance.
20 user presets, remote control (via MIDI), tap delay, USB configuration and a large, contrast-rich, OLED display are also provided.Posted on 14 Sep 2010 10:17 to category : Instruments News
