Patrick Carney: I'm not great behind a drum kit
Patrick Carney told Rolling Stone magazine that critics of his style and technical ability had a point.
"I suck at drums, so it's terrifying...Just trying to keep it together.
"I see a lot of comments on Twitter and stuff about how ugly I am, how bad I am at the drums, how awkward I look, and I'm like, yeah, I agree with most of those things."
Carney also told the music magazine that he thought rock and roll was dying because people have become "okay with Nickelback" being one of the biggest bands in the world.
He said that rock and roll "is the music I feel the most passionately about, and I don't like to see it ruined and spoon-fed down our throats in this watered-down, post-grunge" manner that has become the norm in the business.
The Black Keys released El Caminio, their seventh studio album, last month.
