Paul McCartney: Say hello to Billy Joel
Paul McCartney had a surprise for music fans during his mammoth second night performance at Yankee Stadium by welcoming "a friend of New York and a friend of Yankee Stadium" onto stage.
That friend was the legendary Billy Joel, aka the Piano Man, who then jammed with McCartney on I Saw Her Standing There.
The former Beatles legend rocked an electric guitar and sang while Joel, naturally, sat down and worked his magic on a grand piano.
It was almost as if they were the fresh faced youngsters they used to be, both playing with a exuberant and infectious energy that had the crowd screaming with delight.
This jam isn't the first time the two music superstars have come together. In the summer 2009, Joel appeared as a guest as McCartney opened up the first concert at New York's Citi Field.
It was a favour returned as McCartney had made a surprise appearance in the summer of 2008, while Joel was rocking out Shea Stadium.
It could be the beginning of a new music partnership, which with their respective songwriting and music making success, could prove to be a musical union made in heaven.
