Paul McCartney to play Olympics
But it will come as no surprise to hear that Paul – who regaled us with the likes of Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da and Let It Be on Monday – will probably not be involved with the Games in a sporting capacity.
The one-time Beatles man has revealed in an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live that he'll be taking part in the opening ceremony of the Games – where no doubt more music instrument playing can be expected.
The event will be happening on July the 27th, with the Olympics concluding on the 12th of August.
McCartney's singles as a member of well-known guitar group the Beatles included Yesterday, Hello Goodbye and Hey Jude.
Other performers who took part in the recent Jubilee concert included Stevie Wonder and Cheryl Cole.
