Paul McCartney 'turned down Ozzy Osbourne collaboration'
Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that Paul McCartney once turned down the chance to play bass guitar on one of his songs.
Speaking to Heat, the Black Sabbath legend revealed that he was once working in the recording studio at the same time as the former Beatle.
Osbourne suggested that Sir Paul contribute to one of his tracks, but he declined the opportunity, saying that he could not improve on the bass guitar line that had already been recorded.
The vocalist admitted that he was "shocked" by Sir Paul's refusal, but said meeting the ex-Beatle and former Wings frontman was a "phenomenal" experience.
Sir Paul is currently gearing up for a European tour later this year, which includes dates in Hamburg, Berlin, Paris and London.
This week, it was announced that he is to follow in the footsteps of Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon by receiving the prestigious Gershwin Prize from the Library of Congress.
