Pawn shop owner donates music instruments to schools
A kind hearted pawn shop owner is donating second-hand music instruments to a number of schools to give children and young people the opportunity to learn music.
Bob Moulton knows all too well how these music instruments can help disadvantaged kids whose parents can't afford to purchase them as he went through the same experience when he was younger, reported newobserver.com.
In total he is donating 100 instruments as well as $2,000 (approximately £1,214) to the Durham Public School District, the Orange County School District and the Wake County School District.
Speaking to the online news provider, he said: "I was of modest means and I grew up and made something of myself, and I'm giving back.
"I just think that's how the system should work; more people doing random acts of kindness for strangers. That's the reason I'm doing it."
The gift will be officially recognised in a ceremony.
In September, the national Pawnbrokers Association will be celebrating its third yearly Music Instrument Gift Day.
