Permanent Exhibition Opened for Electronic Music Pioneer
At the time Coventry-born Delia had started experimenting with sounds when there were no synthesizers or computers. She would take recordings of sounds and manipulate it with many pioneering techniques to bring together sounds, which developed and has inspired generations of musicians - even to this day.
Delia had worked to produce sounds from everyday objects such as wine bottles at various stages of emptiness to craft sounds for what was to be an electronic music revolution.
Pete Chambers, Coventry Music Museum's director curator, said: "Its been something of a labour of love to make this happen, but it feels very much like 'mission accomplished'. Finally having a place that celebrates her genius in her birth city is a great feeling, and one that hopefully our visitors will enjoy."
