Playing electric guitar is a great job, says Rick Parfitt
Playing electric guitar with Status Quo is still a great job, Rick Parfitt has stated.
According to the Fender Telecaster player, he cannot imagine life without the band and would feel bored if he retired.
He has therefore insisted that he will not hang up his electric guitar for as long as he is physically able to keep rocking.
Speaking to the Press and Journal, Parfitt said: "We still enjoy it.
"If we didn't, we would stop because I don't think any of us are in it for the money anymore."
Parfitt added that he believes he has got much better at playing the electric guitar over the years.
However, the 61-year-old conceded that the band are not as frantic as they once were and do not jump around on stage as much as they used to.
Status Quo first hit the charts with Pictures of Matchstick Men in 1968 and have since enjoyed more than 60 hit singles, such as Paper Plane, Mean Girl, Down Down and Whatever You Want.Posted on 10 Dec 2009 14:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
