Playing the drums 'can be great for teenage boys'
Teenage boys who love their music may be interested in learning how to play the drums.
This is according to an advice piece in the Daily Telegraph which noted learning an instrument while at this stage in life can be a great hobby for youngsters, as well as equipping them with a useful skill they can utilise in later life.
"For those with a well-insulated garage or understanding or distant neighbours, drum lessons tick the boxes of learning and instrument and burning off some testosterone," the article suggested.
It added that some teens may be interesting in learning something a bit different from the norm, with a saxophone being one potentially good option for such youngsters.
One musician who teenage drummers may want to aspire to be like is Neil Peart from Rush.
The star was recently named as the Drummer of the Year by Drum Magazine for the fourth year in a row, beating the likes of Travis Barker from Blink 182 and Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy to the prize in 2010.
