Usher thinks he is a "worldwide pop icon".

The 'OMG' hitmaker was delighted when Jay-Z recently said he is the perfect artist to fill the void left by the death of Michael Jackson last June, but admits 'King of Pop' is a hard title to take on.

Usher said: "I've been doing this 18 years now and my icon is well on its way. Michael was doing it for 50 years and that's something I'd like to grow towards. At the same time, I am one of a kind, a worldwide pop icon. I think Jay is correct. Thanks, Jay!"

The 32-year-old star also revealed he loves touring in the UK because people are so much more open about sex and nudity than in his native US.

Usher - whose single 'OMG' includes the line "Honey got some boobies like wow oh wow" - added to British newspaper the Daily Star: "You guys are more open. You embrace life and the human anatomy more. I mean, you have topless models in your newspapers. Wow.

"Back home you're allowed to swear on radio and TV but you're not allowed to show boobs. One American journalist said to me recently, 'You get a bit cheeky on 'OMG'. You say boobies.'

"And I was like, 'Yeah? If you get shocked by a boob I feel sorry for you.' Let's face it, we've all sucked on one in our life."
