Praise heaped on Yamaha electric piano
Yamaha's latest electric piano, the AvantGrand, has drawn praise from one design expert.
Martin Stanford quoted Dominic Piers Smith - chief designer at leading Formula One team Brawn GP - in his Sky News blog as saying the instrument is the "the best electric piano I have ever played".
"This is the first time I have got that sense of feedback from an electric piano," he remarked.
Its latest incarnation and the company's flagship model is the N3, which Yamaha's website states has pedals and keys that are completely "indistinguishable" from those of a real grand piano, as well as being able to deliver "flawless sound".
A three-minute video of the 88-key electric piano being played is available on the Sky News website.Posted on 27 Apr 2009 15:25 to category : Instruments News
