Preview: LinnStrument Expressive Performance Controller
A key feature is the 3D note expression, where sensitive pads sense not only velocity and volume, but timbre and pitch, too.
Strings players should be able to start playing the LinnStrument straight away, as the notes are arranged like a guitar, cello, violin or bass... but as if it were a keyboard. You can wear the LinnStrument like a guitar or use it as an expressive desktop controller.
The LinnStrument should be just as easy to pick up for keys players, it's similar to a piano keyboard but with notes stretched out.
Watch the video for a closer look at the LinnStrument tackling slide guitar.
An extended grid controller, you can select between an 8x8 grid, 16x8 or 25x8 for two octaves.
Due for release this Autumn, you can preview the full specs so far, plus Roger's Moogfest presentation over on the Roger Linn Design website.
