Rare violin to be put up for auction
The rare musical instrument was originally crafted by PA Hone in a workshop in Stoke in 1922 and will be placed under the hammer at Warwick Auctions at 10:00 GMT on Wednesday (November 7th), the Coventry Telegraph reports.
PA Hone has been making violins at its site since 1901 and the instrument was just one of the iconic strings that have come off the production line at the Midlands boutique.
Auctioneer Christopher Burns told the news provider: "This is a very rare violin in excellent condition. In over 60 years of trading we have not seen another specimen of a Coventry-made violin until now."
The violin is just one iconic item that has gone under the hammer recently, with instruments from some of the most memorable musicians also going up bids in the past week.
A smashed bass guitar from Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit video was recently due to be put up for auction, with experts predicting that it could command a fee of £25,000.
