Ray Davies pays tribute to Pete Quaife
Ray Davies of The Kinks has paid tribute to his former bandmate Pete Quaife, who died last week at the age of 66.
Quaife was the original bass guitar player with The Kinks and Davies dedicated the group's song See My Friends to the musician when playing at Glastonbury over the weekend, reports NME.
"I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for him," he told festival-goers about his relationship with Quaife.
Davies, who was backed by The Crouch End Festival Choir for much of his set, also played two tracks from what was the bass guitar player's favourite album by the band - The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society.
Faithless and Stevie Wonder were the final two acts to close the stage at the festival this year.Posted on 28 Jun 2010 13:52 to category : Band / Celebrity News
