Ray Davies plans collaboration with brother

Former Kinks frontman Ray Davies could be set to reunite with his brother for the first time in more than a decade.

Electric guitar player Dave Davies could be about to reunite with his brother and former Kinks frontman Ray Davies.

The pair rose to fame with a string of hits in the 1960s, including You Really Got Me, Days, Dead End Street and Waterloo Sunset.

However, the band broke up in 1996 and Ray Davies has since released several solo albums.

Dave, meanwhile, has been plagued by health problems in recent years, including a stroke in 2004, but is planning to resume his music career in 2010.

Ray has therefore suggested that the brothers do a few low-key gigs to see how well he can play, possibly as a prelude to a more extensive tour.

Speaking to the News of the World, he said; "If Dave feels good about it and there's good new material that we can write, it'll happen."

Ray has just released a new album featuring versions of many Kinks classics, rerecorded with The Crouch End Festival Chorus choir.
