Reading and Leeds Festival to expand in 2013
Three new stages are to be added to the summer festivals in 2013, as Benn told BBC's Newsbeat that organisers want to "add more music" but maintained that despite an increase in stages capacity numbers would stay the same.
Reading and Leeds currently have six stages consisting of the main stage, Radio 1 tent, Lock Up and Dance Stage, Festival Republic stage, BBC Introducing stage and the alternative stage for comedic acts, but this could be expanded to eight or even nine.
Benntold the news provider: "I've got quite a strong buzz and feeling in myself in the changes that I'm making there. I'm still formulating the ideas. There will quite a bit more dance music, quite a bit more other bits and pieces."
In a change to previous years, one of the headline acts will be announced prior to Christmas instead of the traditional April release date, with two of the three acts said to be confirmed.
Last year's event saw Foo Fighters, The Cure and Kasabian all rock the two sites over the August bank holiday weekend.
