Propellerhead's Reason 9 is here and we take a look at the new features that help make this the most exciting version of Reason to date.

Reason has become a staple piece of music software for many professionals in the music industry like The Prodigy, multi-instrumentalist and composer Paul Ortiz, AnonXmous and more.

The key new features in Reason 9 include: 1,000 new patches of cutting-edge sounds to boost the creative process, Pitch Edit - to polish your recordings, as well as new player devices to create phrases and progressions with Scales & Chords, Note Echo and Dual Arpeggio.

Reason 9 also has a faster workflow, where you can bounce in place to create audio clips from instruments, reverse MIDI and automation with one click and more. Monophonic audio clips can now be exported to MIDI with a single click too.

Users can also pick a visual theme from a default setting, blue or dark, to help suit your mood and put you in the zone when producing your music.

To run Reason 9, you need to meet or exceed a number of specifications. If you run a Mac, you will require OS X 10.7 or later (64-bit), 4 GB RAM, a monitor with at least 1280 x 768 resolution, 4 GB free hard disk space and a CoreAudio compliant audio interface or built-in hardware.

For Windows users, a PC with intel or AMD processor with dual cores, 4GB RAM, 4 GB free hard disk space, Windows 7 or later (64-bit), a monitor with at least 1280x768 resolution as well as an audio interface with ASIO driver.
