Regina Spektor: "I can't rest until songs are produced properly"
Artistically ambitious piano player and singer Regina Spektor has said that she 'can't rest until' certain songs are tackled appropriately in studio.
In an interview reported on NME.com, the Fidelity singer said: "I feel like I need to produce them properly and I can't rest until that's done."
The tracks in question, she said, were those she had only sung in a live or almost-live situation.
Spektor's LP Songs (which was where her famous track Samson originally saw the light of day) was practically "a live record without an audience," she said.
Hence, the article states, a recent re-mount for one of the tracks from that collection by the name of Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas) – in much the same way Samson later reappeared on LP Begin to Hope (with the addition of a few extra violins).
The piece will be included on the forthcoming What We Saw From The Cheap Seats, says NME, alongside tracks titled Firewood, Old Jacket and Jessica, among others.
Spektor's most famous songs to date are probably Us, Fidelity, Samson, Better and The Call - which appeared in the film Prince Caspian.
