Rihanna returns to Jay-Z
Rihanna has swapped management to join Jay-Z's Roc Nation group.
The 'Only Girl In The World' singer has moved to the New York rapper's company, dropping manager Marc Jordan, ahead of the release of her fifth album, 'Loud', next month.
She said in a statement: "I'm so excited to take this next step in my career."
Rihanna, 22, has a long standing association with Jay - he signed her to the record label Def Jam, which he was formerly president of, in 2005 and acted as her mentor in her early career. He also guest starred on the Barbadian singer's single 'Umbrella', her biggest worldwide hit to date.
The pair also collaborated again last year on Jay's track 'Run This Town', which also featured Kanye West.
Jay records for his own record label, Roc A Fella - and Rihanna is also making a similar move, forming Rihanna Entertainment, a new company which will, according to a source: "Merge all of her businesses, including music, film, fragrance, fashion and book ventures."
It was also confirmed yesterday (20.10.10) that 'Loud' will feature guest appearances from female rapper Nicki Minaj, and male rappers Drake and Eminem.
'Loud' is set for release on November 12.Posted on 21 Oct 2010 09:45 to category : Music News
