Robbie Williams' stage fright cure
Robbie Williams' stage fright may be cured by the Take That reunion tour.
The singer's father Pete Conway has revealed the star - who is set to appear alongside his former bandmates for the first time in 15 years - is hoping the nerves which forced him to cancel dates on his 2006 solo tour will have now disappeared.
He told The Sun newspaper: "With the boys there the stage fright won't be an issue. I know he suffered from that earlier on. But he'll have all that support of his band of brothers. It's so wonderful that he has joined Take That again".
And Pete revealed Robbie - who famously quit the band in 1995 amid rumours of a rift with fellow members Gary Barlow and Jason Orange - found touring as a solo artist "lonely."
Speaking about the upcoming 54-date UK tour - which is estimated to net the 'Back For Good' hitmakers a total of £75 million - he explained: "It will be a solid and nice year for him. He'll have fun and will have genuine friends around him for support. It can get lonely on your own."
The group - also comprising Mark Owen and Howard Donald - filmed the video for reunion single 'The Flood' this week in a rowing boat on Dorney Lake in Berkshire, South East England.
An onlooker said: "Robbie and the boys clearly got on very well. It was just like old times. They were mucking about and having fun."Posted on 21 Jul 2010 10:00 to category : Music News
