Robert Plant turns up and performs at £3 a ticket gig
Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant may be one of the biggest music superstars around but that doesn't mean he has lost touch with reality after he made a surprise appearance at a gig in a community hall in Wales.
Plant, 63, appeared at the charity gig alongside two other bands in the small historic town of Monmouth.
The show, which was held as a tribute to the producer Pat Moran, who died at the beginning of the year from Pick's Disease, was an intimate gig with of 200 invited guests, who each paid £3 for a ticket.
Moran, who was an old friend of Plant, worked with the singer on his album the Principle of Moments and also produced Iggy Pop's Soldier album.
Brian Moran, the brother of Pat, who organised the show, told the BBC: "It was very kind of Mr Plant to join in - Pat would have been very proud.
"Mr Plant was even kind enough to sign a t-shirt which will be auctioned on eBay this week."
The charity event has so far raised £1,500 for the Pick's Disease Support group.
