Rock Band 'putting people off playing real guitars'
Speaking to BBC News, the former Rolling Stone said he is "not really keen" on the game, as it encourages people "not to learn" how to play properly.
Similar views were expressed were expressed by Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, who said his children are big fans of Rock Band.
"If they spent as much time practising the guitar as learning how to press the buttons they'd be damn good by now," he commented.
However, Mason added that he would not rule out licensing Pink Floyd's music to a similar video game, as the traditional way of selling records has "almost disappeared".
Similar views have already been expressed by Led Zeppelin's electric guitar player Jimmy Page, as well as Jack White of The White Stripes.
Wyman and Mason were speaking ahead of the release of The Beatles: Rock Band, which allows gamers to play along with more than 40 songs from the Fab Four.Posted on 8 Sep 2009 11:49 to category : Band / Celebrity News
