Rock guitarist reveals tricks of the trade in new DVD
Electric guitar player Gary Hoey is bringing out a new instructional DVD which gives musicians an insight into how they can improve their work on the instrument.
Hoey, who has worked with the likes of Steve Vai, Jeff Beck and Brian May over the years, will reveal some of his best playing tips in the two-disc set entitled The Need for Lead: Phrases, Hooks and Melodies, reports MI-Pro.
The DVD is to be released in January and will give electric guitar players instructions on scales, patterns and fretboard visualisation.
Joe Palombo, the executive director of Rock House, the company which is releasing the programme, said Hoey is someone almost every guitarist can learn from.
"Gary's diverse technique and exceptional talent have rightfully earned him worldwide recognition," he stated.
Hoey is currently on tour in the US and is set to play a series of dates in the state of California during December.
