Rode Mics Announce Redesign of 3 Top Products
Use the iXY to record instruments on the go, to record speech for soundbites or for sound design.
The original iXY, launched last year, quickly became popular, and the new version is brought up to date with a lightning connector for iPhone 5 users.
The same quality audio as the original 30pin microphone remains, as features still include a pair of matched 1/2 inch condenser capsules arranged in a stacked X-Y configuration and high-fidelity analog to digital conversion.
The SmartLav+ lavelier mic for smartphones also updates the original SmartLav by adding a low-noise capsule design and colour-coded jacks. The Kevlar-reinforced cable ensures that SmartLav+ can go anywhere with you without strain.
Like the first SmartLav, SmartLav+ is compatible with any audio app that accepts input from the headset, although works particularly well with the Rode Rec app where users can publish to SoundCloud instantly.
The Rode Blimp 2 windshield and shockmount for NTG1, NTG2 and NTG3 microphones has been given a redesign. Over 25% lighter than the previous Blimp, the new Blimp features a new Rycote shockmount and handle design.
