Roger Daltrey: I want play blues with Jimmy Page
Roger Daltrey, the lead singer in The Who, has revealed he wants to collaborate with Led Zeppelin's electric guitar player Jimmy Page.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, Daltrey stated that he would "love to do an album with Jimmy Page".
He explained that he would like to record a blues album with the legendary electric guitar player.
"I don't sing the blues with The Who, but that's what I used to be before Townshend started writing," said Daltrey. "I used to be a great blues singer."
The Who frontman was speaking ahead of the Teenage Cancer Trust gigs he has organised at the Royal Albert Hall for next month.
Among the acts set to appear are Arctic Monkeys, Noel Gallagher and Suede, with the series of shows being rounded off by The Who playing their Quadrophenia album in full on March 30th 2010.
Earlier this month, The Who played to an audience of hundreds of millions as they performed at the Super Bowl half-time show.
