Roger Taylor pays tribute to Gary Moore
Roger Taylor, the man behind the drum kit in Queen, has paid tribute to Gary Moore following the death of the Thin Lizzy guitarist.
Speaking to Classic Rock magazine, Taylor explained that he has great memories of Moore from the time their two bands went on tour together.
"He'd recently joined Lizzy and he fitted in great - a blindingly fast player and his thing was these staccato runs, with a bit of jazz in there," the drummer said.
Taylor added that Queen's Brian May had been very impressed with Moore's abilities on the electric guitar.
He went on to describe the Thin Lizzy man as a "virtuoso" and said the music he created will live on.
Words of praise for Moore also came from Ozzy Osborne, who said he had worked with the guitarist in the past and considered him a friend.
"To say that his death is a tragic loss doesn't seem to give it the justice it deserves," Ozzy stated.
Earlier this week, Sir Bob Geldof also paid his respects, telling the BBC that he considers Moore to be one of the great Irish bluesmen and an exceptionally talented musician.
