Roland Boutique Synths Enhance Roland Classics with the Latest Technology
Roland has unveiled three new additions to the Roland Boutique Synth series including the TR-09 Rhythm Composer, TB-03 Bass Line, and VP-03 Vocoder. Each of these new models recreates the sound, interface, and operation of classic Roland products that many people love. All three new Boutique Synths are powered by 4 x AA batteries or USB bus power, and can be used in many applications, including studio, live performances and at home. In addition, each module includes a powered mini-speaker, which is ideal for todays mobile musicians.
The TR-09 Rhythm Composer recreates the influential hybrid sound of the iconic Roland TR-909 drum machine in a compact unit. As well as delivering this renowned tone, the TR-09 also includes the familiar 16-step TR-REC programming style and a choice of Step or Tap write modes. Unlike its predecessor, the TR-09 offers more flexibility with its host of connectivity to external gear, allowing users to tailor a unique performance without interrupting their beats.
The TB-03 Boutique Bass line takes its inspiration from the legendary Roland TB-303, and utilises ACB (Analog Circuit Behaviour) to deliver an authentic sound like the original. Featuring a new four-digit LED display, which allows for enhanced programming, as well as rotary dials which provide hands-on control for tuning, cutoff, resonance, envelop mod, decay, and accent. In addition to these features, the TB-03 also includes Saw and square waveforms, alongside new overdrive, delay, and reverb effects. Unlike the original, the new TB-03 is equipped with an all-new Step mode and fine tempo control, and sequences can continue playing while switching modes.
Last but not least, the new VP-03 has been greatly inspired by the legendary VP-303 Vocoder Plus, and uses ACB technology to recreate the original sound, along with the human voice. Like the original, the VP-03 comes equipped with a vocoder, human voice, and string sound sources on board. In addition, it also includes a full host of new features including 16 Chord Memory setups for one-finger chord playback, plus a new Voice Step Sequencer for dynamic rhythmic effects.
Shipping from October 2016, keep your eyes on this space for more info and updates about the new Roland Boutique Synths.
