Rolling Stones to jam next month
Despite being the elder statesmen of rock, their appetite for controversy has not abated, the latest being the very public falling out between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
However, with the band's 50th anniversary next year, Richards has reached out to his long-time friend.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, the rockstar, known for his love of headgear, said that a few of the band members were looking to get together for a jam next month.
Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts will get together to catch up on old times and play a little music.
"We're just going to play a little together, because we haven't played for three or four years. You don't necessarily want to rehearse or write anything - you just want to touch bases," he told the magazine.
"That's a good start. Mick's welcome, and I'm sure he'll turn up, but right now we just want to get our chops down."
Richards was awarded the Norman Mailer Prize for Distinguished Biography for his best-selling autobiography Life. He was presented the award by Bill Clinton.
