Ronnie Wood, electric guitar player in The Rolling Stones, has said he wants the band to go on tour next year.

The veteran musician has just performed a reunion gig with his old band The Faces but revealed that he is "ready to rock" with the Stones again in 2010.

Speaking to BBC 6 Music, he added that he saw his Rolling Stones bandmates Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts just last week.

"Everything is great," he commented.

"It's all very good."

The Rolling Stones completed their most recent world tour in 2007, spending two years promoting their album A Bigger Bang.

Audiences across the world were treated to new tracks and classic Stones hits such as Paint It Black, Brown Sugar, Tumbling Dice and You Can't Always Get What You Want.

Frontman Mick Jagger recently made a surprise appearance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame event in New York, joining U2 to sing Gimme Shelter and Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of.
