Ronnie Wood wants Rolling Stones to play Glastonbury
Electric guitar player Ronnie Wood has said he would love to headline Glastonbury Festival with the rest of the Rolling Stones.
Speaking to the Metro, Wood explained it had been rumoured the group would be booked to play the bash this year, but it did not come to fruition.
He added that he is hopeful the Stones will get another chance to appear at the iconic event in the not-too-distant future.
"I'm always up for the festivals. As far as the Stones are concerned we haven't had a get-together for three years but it's high time," Wood stated.
The guitarist added that talks between the band members about going on another tour are on the cards.
Earlier this year, Wood released solo album I Feel Like Playing, which featured a number of cameos from a host of famous faces from the world of music.
Among those to contribute to the record were Slash, Flea, Bobby Womack, Kris Kristofferson and Ian McLagan.
Wood has been one of the most influential electric guitar players in the history of British rock 'n' roll music, appearing in The Birds, the Jeff Beck Group and The Faces prior to joining the Rolling Stones.
