Salvador Ibanez guitar discovery
The music instrument in question had cracks in it and had been picked up for five pounds after being found in a tip, reports the Daily Mail.
But a glance online turned up a comparable model going for thousands of pounds, Shaun Newman, who dealt with the guitar, told the paper.
The instrument had been produced in around 1900, he speculates.
Produced by Valencia's Salvador Ibanez, much time was poured into the guitar's restoration by Mr Newman, report the Mail,
"It was found on a recycling tip in Exmouth," Mr Newman revealed, adding that the Spanish Civil War later eradicated the workshops that saw its production.
Ibanez is still a guitar company and Gear4Music stocks many new (and much more affordable!) models from them. They have created electric guitars from the 1950s onwards.
