Saxon star plays guitar for school performance of We Will Rock You
Former Saxon electric guitar player Graham Oliver has helped out at a school's performance of We Will Rock You.
Youngsters at Mexborough School in Doncaster performed the musical based on the songs of Queen and written by comedian Ben Elton and Oliver agreed to play along as his grandchildren attend the educational institution, reports the Sheffield Star.
School spokeswoman Emma Maltravers said: "The music department got in touch with him, he offered his services and played the guitar for the show.
"I think the students who were taking part thought it was absolutely brilliant, but they were all taking it in their stride."
While Oliver has left Saxon, the rockers are still going with an altered line-up.
The band are set to head out on a tour of the UK later this month, following shows in Greece in early April.
Saxon will begin the British leg of their gig run in Leamington Spa on April 9th, going on to play shows in Nottingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds and Wolverhampton.
Their final date in Britain will take place at in London on April 23rd, with the group then scheduled to participate in a European tour throughout the summer.
