Shaun Ryder claims Stone Roses will reform

Shaun Ryder has claimed The Stone Roses will reform if it's a lucrative venture.

Shaun Ryder has claimed that The Stone Roses will reform because Ian Brown will be tempted by the huge amounts of cash the reunion is likely to bring.

The Happy Mondays frontman, who is known for his candour and wild lifestyle, said that until now Brown hasn't needed the money, but he might do now, reported the Sun.

He told the newspaper: "I think it'll happen, I really do. There is more of a chance now than ever of them getting back together. Ian's just split with his missus and I bet she's hit him for a few quid."

Ryder, who recently stormed back to popularity after coming runner-up in ITV's reality TV show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! is currently performing as a solo artist.

Ian Brown, who often plays the tambourine on stage, has yet to comment, fuelling rumours that the band might be working on new material.

The popular singer recently performed at Gary Neville's testimonial. The retired footballer is a huge fan of Brown and The Stone Roses.

From Take That to Boyzone and Blue to East 17, the recent trend in the music industry has been the reformation of former bands.
