The Drum Mastery competition by Shure, the leading manufacturer of microphone and recording gear, opens on October 1st across 18 European countries.
Shure is seeking out Europe's best amateur drummers - that is, those who are not currently making their major income from drumming.
This competition is aimed at rewarding those who have spent "way too many hours annoying...parents, friends or neighbours"Â with their drumming, according to Shure.
To enter visit the Drum Mastery website, download the play-along and practise it until you feel tight.
The next step is to record a video of you playing along to the track, making sure it's in your own style.
The competition is running from 1st October until 16th December, with the 3 entrants from each country being put forward to a panel of judges, in addition to 1 entrant voted for by Shure, per country.
The judges will then select 5 finalists, each of whom will be flown to Iceland in March.
The lucky 5 will receive a one day drum kit masterclass from Darren Ashford, as well as spending some time with a Shure sound engineer to learn the best micing techniques and tips.
The 5 finalists then will face each other in front of a live club audience, who will then vote for the winner.
The Drum Master will receive a voucher worth 5000 euros to spend on Shure gear.
Not only will Shure be giving fantastic prizes to the lucky 5, there is a wide range of educational videos on the Drum Mastery website, including drum micing tips and choosing the right mic.
Due to licensing laws in Iceland the finalists must all be over the age of 20 - there will be a separate prize (a set of Shure beta Drum microphones) for the best entrant aged 20 or under.
