Singer and electric guitar player Richard Ashcroft discusses 'feeling born again'
Singer and occasional electric guitar player Richard Ashcroft has explained the theme of his new single Born Again.
The track is being released by the former frontman of The Verve new group the United Nations of Sound (UNOS) on July 19th 2010.
He explained that being born again "doesn't have to have a Christian overtone" and is an experience that could happen to anyone.
"Sometimes phrases get hi-jacked. There are certain moments in life where we all come out of a hole and feel like we've been given another chance," he said of the sentiment of the song.
It is the second single to be released from the UNOS' self-titled debut album, which comes out the same day as the track.
Ashcroft reformed his original group The Verve in 2007 and the band went on to headline Glastonbury and release a new album, Fourth, in 2008.
