Single celebrations for Cheryl
The brunette singer from Newcastle was number one in the Official Singles Chart, it was revealed by the Official Charts Company.
Cheryl was famously a judge on The X Factor for a time, and has enjoyed solo number one hits with tracks Promise This and Fight For This Love.
Her newest LP, A Million Lights, is due to be made available soon too.
There has been much media coverage of Cole in the run up to her latest single and album releases.
She first shot to fame on the reality TV programme Popstars: The Rivals. The programme, which included Spice Girl Geri Halliwell as a judge, created the girl group Girls Aloud (with the help of public votes).
Cheryl was made a member of that group, alongside Nicola Roberts, Kimberly Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Sarah Harding.
Among the Girls Aloud singles to hit the number one chart position were I'll Stand By You and Sound of the Underground – the band's first single, which included guitar and drum action in its promotional music video.
