Sir Elton John plays piano on Alice In Chains song
Alice In Chains have called on veteran pop star Sir Elton John to play piano on one of their latest tracks.
Sir Elton happened to be recording in a nearby studio at the time and visited Alice In Chains while they were making their album.
He rated the track Black Gives Way To Blue so highly that he decided he would like to play piano on it.
Electric guitar player Jerry Cantrell said he found Sir Elton a very warm person who was receptive to the band's ideas.
"One of the most nerve-racking moments I had was actually making a suggestion to him," he told the Associated Press.
"What do you say to Elton John?"
The pop star is perhaps best known for hits including Tiny Dancer, Candle in the Wind, Rocket Man and Your Song.
He famously collaborated with former Beatle John Lennon in 1974 on hit record Whatever Gets You Thru The Night, and has more recently performed with acts including boy band Blue.Posted on 12 Aug 2009 15:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
